Agios Athanasios (Greek: Άγιος Αθανάσιος, Bulgarian: Каваклиево, Kavaklievo) is a town and a former municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Chalkidona, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] In 2001 the population was 14,387.
